Douglas R. Vincent, 80, of Piqua, passed away at 5:44 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County. He was born January 4, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late Howard and Ruth (Gardner) Vincent. He married Diana (Kaercher) Vincent November 21, 1970 in Richmond, Indiana and she survives.
Other survivors include two children, Brian Vincent of Dublin, and Lisa (Paul) Chodorov of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five grandchildren, Britney (Dylan) Spaugy, Chelsea Vincent, Rayne Vincent, Shane Vincent and Bret Chodorov; also many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Don Brown; and his sister, Linda Stevly.
Doug was a graduate of Springfield South High School, Class of 1962. Doug worked in retail management at Drug Castle, Super X, and Farm & Fleet. He was a member of the Piqua Noon Optimist Club, the Shelby County Bass Masters, American Legion Post 184 in Piqua, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3615 at Indian Lake. He was a longtime fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Doug loved to fish, and go camping at Indian Lake. Doug cherished being able to play guitar with Brian at the campground, and going to Langley Air Force Base with Lisa when he was visiting her in Virginia.
A service to honor Doug will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veteran's Elite Tribute Squad. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doug's honor to the Parkinson's Foundation, Great Lakes Chapter 5757 Waterford District Dr., Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126.
