Mr. Steven Bruce, Sr. was born in Blenheim, South Carolina located in Marlboro County. He was born the son of the late Dorothy Napoleon Bruce and Colon Bruce, Sr. His birth took place on August 5, 1956. He was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, South Carolina and graduated from Blenheim High School in the Class of 1976. Early in life he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church; while there he served as an Usher. His marriage was to the late Blanche Walls. Steven was once employed at Oak River Mill and worked doing landscaping. On September 30, 2024 while at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina, Steven Bruce responded to the Master's call from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his memories, but not limited to: his son,  Steven Bruce, Jr., Bennettsville, SC; his daughters, Shamiya Bruce, Bennettsville, SC and Dorisena Poe, Durham, NC; two sisters, Shelia Bruce Covington and Fannie Brown (Marion) both of Bennettsville, SC; two brothers, Colon Bruce, Jr. and Damon Marlon Bruce both of Bennettsville, SC; two grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him. A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 - 12 Noon at Quick's Funeral Home Chapel - 118 Robeson Street - Bennettsville, SC 29512 with burial in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church cemetery - 1575 Salem Road - Bennettsville, SC 29512.
