It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Joseph Doucette announces his passing on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center at the age of 73 years. Born in Tompkins, Joe was the son of the late John and Margaret Doucette.
Joe leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 51 years, Ann (nee Gillis) Doucette. He also leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters, Bernice (Joe) Bennett, Patricia Gale (Jim), Mary (Cyril) Dwyer, Angie (Ed) LeRiche, Kay (Gerry) Doucette, and Anne Marie (Robin) Foley, brothers and sisters in law, George (Clarissa) Gillis, Donald (Lucy) Gillis, Yvonne (Darrell) Young, Albert (Wanda) Gillis, Catherine Bartlett and Barbara Farrell, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe was predeceased by his brother, Paul Doucette, sisters, Regina (Stan) Farrell and Jane (Karl) Reid, brother in law Roger Gale, sisters in law, Joyce Gillis and Joan Gillis, and niece Kayla.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Sunday, October 27th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with a wake service starting at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will take place Monday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Prakash officiating. Interment to follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery, Great Codroy. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
