George Martin Litchfield, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather joins the Lord in Heaven on October 1 2024. He will be greeted by his parents, George and Dorothy Litchfield, and his brother Lewis Litchfield. His absence leaves those who knew him with a heavy heart but the memories of his presence will continue to guide and influence us for the rest of our lives. We will forever love and miss you.
George was born on January 3, 1939 in Rogers, Arkansas. He joined the Navy right out of high school and served four years as an Aviation Guided Missile man aboard the USS Ranger CV-61. After leaving the Navy, he was employed by AT&T Longlines for thirty years as a microwave engineer.
After retiring, he earned an Associate Degree in Christian Studies from New Orleans Theological Seminary. He and his wife Patti loved to travel and visited several countries. They also loved going on mission trips with their church and especially loved cooking for youth. He taught the men's Sunday School class at Smyrna 1st Baptist for years and most recently taught at his church Mt. Harmony Baptist. George loved his Lord and was ready to serve Him in any way.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Patti, daughter Lisa Ann (John) Wise, son Steven "Marty" (Sheri) Litchfield. Grandchildren Chelle (Zach) Huff and John Brandon Wise, Great grandchildren Gray Ash and Coal Huff, nephew Eric (Ann) Litchfield and Great nephew Tommy Litchfield and Great niece Catherine Litchfield.
