Charles R. Rider, 61, of Greenwood passed from this life on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:37 a.m.

Charles was born on December 21, 1962, in Rushville, Indiana the son of Harold R. and Karen A. Miller Rider. On June 23, 1992, he married Ava C. Ballard.

Mr. Rider graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf and was an avid football fan and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include his son, Chase M. Rider of Columbus and sisters, Jo (Jim) Kaler of Columbus and Anna Barwick of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ava C. Rider on January 2, 2019.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Michael Snider officiating.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

In memory of Mr. Rider memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Donor’s Choice.
