Seraphina Elise Smentkowski, 2 months and 11 days old, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport, July 16, 2024, a daughter of Steven Michael Smentkowski and Savannah Macayle Evette Welch, of Bridgeport.

Also surviving are: maternal grandparents, Beverly Frances George and her husband, Brandon Shaw, Bridgeport; paternal grandmother, Barbara Brown, Bridgeport; great grandparents, Sherrie Heavner and her husband Richard, Meadowbrook, Lenora Satterfield and her husband, P.J. Owens, Philippi, Michael Shaw and his wife Tami, Fairview; her great-great grandmother, Virginia Dean Beverly, Meadowbrook; aunts and uncles; Deanna Welch, Sadie Shaw, Crevan Shaw, Stoic Shaw, Autumn Wratchford, Madison Wratchford, and Travis Wratchford; and a special auntie, Karen Henderson.

Seraphina was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Steven Smentkowski; maternal grandfather, Ronald Welch; her great grandparents, George and Dorothy Brown, and Gary Lynn George; her great-great grandfather, James “Bo” Beverly; and an aunt, Gabrielle Welch.

Seraphina was bright-eyed and beautiful, taking in the world around her. She loved to look at lights and laugh. She was so sweet and funny, always smiling and bringing much joy to her extensive family. During her short time here, she touched many and was very dear to us all.

A graveside service will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery, 400 Benedum Dr., Bridgeport, at 11am, Saturday, October 5th. Following the service at the cemetery, family and friends will gather at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Clarksburg at the Sycamore Pavilion, for a celebration of life.
