It is with great sadness the family of Salvatore “Sam” Giordano announce his peaceful passing in his 88th year at the NHS-St. Catharines. Now reunited with his loving wife, Antonina. Survived by children, Giuseppe (Caryl), Gerry (Billy); proud grandfather to Joey (Angela), Chris (Kayla), Nick (Aleesha), Robbie (Emilie), Alyssa and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Ryan, Lucas, Christopher, Alex and Markus, with extended family in Italy and Germany to mourn Sam’s passing.
He worked as a Baker for Sorrento Bakery and St. Joseph’s Bakery before he started his own Pizza Business “Pizza House” in the late 80’s until his retirement. Sam enjoyed spending time in his garden, playing cards at the Italian café and dinner dances. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often times saying “Look at what we made!”
We wish to give special thanks to Dr. J. E. M. Young with Juravinski for his exceptional care and compassion for Sam, as well as the staff at Niagara Health in St. Catharines.
In keeping with Sam’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family welcomes guests for a time of gathering on Thursday, October 3 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home. A funeral service to be held Friday, October 4 2024 at 12:00pm in the funeral home ceremony room followed by a reception and entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
