Marilyn Derringer, of Liberty, was scooped up by her Lord and Savior at the age of 68 and now watches over her grateful family.
Born on January 15, 1956, in Taylor County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Myrtle Wethington.
Marilyn was the most kind and loving mom, wife, sister, aunt, and friend that anyone could possibly ask for. She always thought of others before she thought of herself. She loved without limits or conditions and was always ready to listen and laugh with her loved ones. Marilyn enjoyed the small pleasures in life such as quilting, watching spooky movies, ‘frogging’ ornery son-in-laws, being the best Tetris player (despite all Jessee’s best efforts,) and beating the pants off everyone at Spade Rummy. While the world is a little bit darker with her passing, the love and joy that she gave her family will last forevermore.
She is survived by three sons, Rodney (Jillian Morrow) Derringer of West Chester, Ohio, Jessee (Amanda Lewis) Derringer of Berea, and Tyler (Holly) Wethington of Campbellsville; two daughters, Kimberly (Christopher) Denson and Wendy (Derek) Brown, both of Liberty; two grandchildren, Ethan Sellers and Keira Denson; six honorary grandchildren; two brothers, William “Bimbo” (Kathy) Wethington of Middleburg and Jimmy (Marsha) Wethington of Clementsville; and two sisters, Emma (Gary) Wethington and Carolyn Rae (Odell) Coleman-Vittitoe, both of Clementsville.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Wethington.
The funeral mass will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Dant officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
