Renee Maureen Shay was born on October 28, 1963 to Philip Ross and Grace E. (Buell) Williams in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  She attended Lincoln East High School graduating in 1982.  On November 4, 2000 Renee was united in marriage to Jerry Shay in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She worked at Bryan Hospital as a surgical assistant.  In her free time, she enjoyed college football especially Nebraska Cornhusker football.  She also enjoyed art and metal working.  Renee passed away on September 29, 2024 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 60.  She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shay of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters, Sarah Shay of Lincoln, Nebraska and Erin (Scott) Gropp of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jax, Amelia and Ava Gropp; sister, Lisa Marie (Gary) Mills of Panama City Beach, Florida; brothers, Bradley Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska and John Barry (Diane) Williams of Jacksonville, Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Ross and Grace Williams.
