On September 30, 2024, Walter W. Cartwright, age 84 of Laurel Springs, beloved husband of Kathryn Cartwright (nee Samoni). Devoted father of Sharyn (John) Pepe and Walter Cartwright, Jr; and grandfather of Kathryn (Ryan) Pepe-Coleman, Madelyn Pepe (Gavin Pullan), and Carolyn Pepe (Kevin Keyes). Predeceased by his mother, Alice Cartwright (nee Stanborough). Loving brother of Lucille (George) Kergides, the late Joan Lockwood, the late Margaret Morelli, the late Charles Cartwright, and the late John Cartwright. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Walter served in the United States Navy, and was the owner of Walt’s Barber Shop in Laurel Springs. He was a devout car enthusiast, and one of the original sponsors of Glen Oaks Little League. In his later years, his proudest moments were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and truly believed that “time with those you love is life’s greatest gift.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:45am at Erial Cemetery, 1725 New Brooklyn Erial Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08021 (all planning to attend are asked to park in the Erial Community Church parking lot). Arrangements under the direction of the: ORA L. WOOSTER FUNERAL HOME, Clementon, NJ.

For those who feel inclined to honor Walter in lieu of flowers, the family has provided the following charities that were close to their heart: American Cancer Society, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, American Heart Association, and/or Samaritan Hospice Gift Processing Center.
