Marcelina Alvarez passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 75, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on June 2, 1949, Marcelina was a formidable presence, characterized by her strength and tenacity. She was a loving wife to Ignacio Alvarez, caring mother and grandmother who bravely fought Parkinson's disease since the 1990s, and notably, she was the only member of her family who did not contract Covid-19.

Marcelina is survived by a loving family, including her children, Jackie (Braulio) Aguirre, Glenn (Juannis) Alvarez, and Eusebio Alvarez. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Camila, Cecilia, Celeste, Eusebio Junior, Kimberly, Antonio, and Elisa Alvarez Lopez. She also leaves behind her siblings, Rosa Teran, Estella Anzaldo, Jose Anzaldo, Rey Anzaldo, Berta Anzaldo and Adrian Anzaldo. Marcelina was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Maria Anzaldo.

A visitation will be held at Casey and Rios Funeral Home in Chicago, Illinois, on October 5, 2024, from 8:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Internment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
