It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved mother Katherine (Kit) Ann Bushgens. She was born on October 25, 1948 in Longview Washington to Harold Mattson and Virginia Spangler (Veltkamp). She died on September 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family peacefully.

Kit moved to Nevada in 1970 where she met and married Allen Leroy Bushgens on November 12, 1972. She worked in the casino industry in accounts payable for many years. After she retired, her and Al managed a storage facility. For the past six years Kit volunteered with the Foster Grandparents Program enriching children's lives on a daily basis at Lena Juniper Elementary.

Kit loved camping at Pyramid Lake, thrifting, and most of all spending quality time with her children, grandchildren. and being GG to her great grandchildren. Kit was witty and super sassy and well known for flipping the bird. She had an unapologetic sense of humor and to those who knew her, LOVED that about her.

She is survived by her husband Allen Leroy Bushgens, her three grown children, Curt Alan Bushgens Sr. (Candi) their children, Curt Jr, Chad, Conrad; Christine Ann (Bushgens) Seelkoke (Brian) her son Andrew; Trina Lee Garcia (Michael Sr) their children Michelle and Michael Jr, as well as 6 great grandchildren soon to be 7.

Anyone who knew and loved Kit is welcome to join us in the Celebration of her Life. Saturday November 2nd 10:00-1:00 at Waltons Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane in Sparks.
