Edward J. Rodman, 90, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 1, surrounded by his loving family. Ed lived in Naples for the past 30 years, but his roots were firmly planted in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he grew up, and in Linden, where he dedicated many years of his career as a detective for the Union County Prosecutor's Office. His work focused on organized crime and drug investigations, showcasing his commitment to justice and community safety.
After his tenure in law enforcement, Ed transitioned to the hospitality industry, working in security at the Marriott resort on Marco Island. His passion for protecting others never wavered, and he was well-respected by colleagues and friends alike.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia, and their three children: daughters Patrice and Denise, and son Frank (Marisa). He was a proud grandfather to Bryce (Erin) and Baylor, and a cherished great-grandfather to Bayne and Blaise.
A devoted family man and former U.S. Army paratrooper, Ed will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Ed's memory (t2t.org). A celebration of Ed's life will be held at a later date.
