John Atlee McKinney, 73, of Madisonville, KY passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Henderson Deaconess in Henderson, KY.
He was born March 3, 1951, to the late Robert E. McKinney and Thelma Davidson McKinney, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert McKinney Jr.
John was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville and members of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.
He is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Drew) Mays, of Henderson, Ky; Amy Shipp of Madisonville; one son, Jason McKinney of Manitou, KY; one sister, Wanda Powers of West Virginia; and Seven grandchildren, Alex Clark, Addie Clark, Max Mays, Zoe McKinney, Zane McKinney, Gannon Shipp, and Roarik Shipp.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday October 3, 2024, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Orten officiating. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the service time Thursday at the Funeral Home.
