WHEATON
Bruce
January 14, 1951 - September 30, 2024
It is with sadness in our hearts that the family of the late Bruce Henry Thomas Wheaton announce his passing on September 30th 2024, after a short but well fought illness.
Predeceased by his mother Mildred (Hancott) Wheaton and father Rex Wheaton.
Bruce leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years, Brenda Wheaton; his Daughter Natasha (Dennis) and Son Tyson; his grandchildren, Candi (Kova), Sean, Henry, and Eli; and his sisters, Caville, Ivy (David), Marion, Ruby, and Rosemary (Don), as well as a large number of family members and close friends.
From his first breath to his last, he faced every obstacle, problem, and worry head on and with a determination unmatched by many. A man that was larger than life and with a heart equally as big. In his life, he had 3 great loves: his family, his work, and the solitude of the Gander river. He was a hardworking & loving provider for his family. He gave equally as much into his work. He was extremely passionate and devoted to his career, a sentiment that is evident in the gratitude expressed by his students and their parents throughout his decades of teaching. Retirement at the cabin brought a much needed quiet and calm to his soul, and he longed to get back to the river as soon as he would leave.
He packed a lot of life and adventure into 73 years, with many stories of things he has done and lives he has touched and help change. Although the time we had would never be long enough, we are grateful for every second we were given.
Family will be accepting friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, Carmanville on Thursday, October 3rd from 2 to 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm and Friday, October 4th from 2 - 4 pm.
Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
