Kenneth Vester Mosher, Sr., age 85 of Gonzales, Texas, born in Mercer County, Illinois, November 21, 1938 to Hiram Edward and Lydia Emma (Waterman) Mosher, passed away peacefully at the Heights of Gonzales, September 30, 2024 from complications of C.O.P.D..

Kenneth grew-up in Hopper, Illinois and was a graduate of Stronghurst High School, in Illinois.

Kenneth was a Bible Teacher at Hopper Bible School, which his wife-to-be, Elsie Weaver began in Hopper, Illinois, in 1957. This is how they met, marrying in 1958. They celebrated 66 years of marriage on August 13, 2024.

Kenneth studied to be a pilot, before he began his career with J. I. Case in Burlington, Iowa, where he began as a welder in 1957, and finished his 35 years there; as General Foreman of the Experimental Department.

Kenneth was a Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America, and also assisted Elsie, who led Brownie and Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts.

Together with his wife Elsie, Kenneth was a master gardener, beekeeper, and raised chickens, goats, and later pigs.  Using his extensive engineering talents, Kenneth designed new and innovative ways to build feeders at the Ranch.

A master draftsman and carpenter, Kenneth with his wife Elsie, designed and hand built their home and barns on property where they reared their children in Illinois.

An expert woodworker, Kenneth also built several beautiful, now family heirloom, pieces of furniture.

They became Ranchers when they hand built another home, barn, out buildings, and gardens, also in Illinois which they enjoyed until his retirement from J. I. Case in 1992.

Moving to Texas, they completely renovated the home they shared in Gonzales, until 2024.

Kenneth enjoyed employment as a land surveyor in Gonzales, Texas after his retirement. He also served his community as an Election Judge in Gonzales County for many years. Kenneth enjoyed Chess, and building and flying model aircraft, as a member of various flying clubs in central Texas until 2023.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Edna and Cornelia, three brothers, Edward Clayton, William, and Gerald, and his son, Kenneth Vester Mosher II (2019).
