Barbara Ann Allen Krol, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully at Parkside North East on September 30, 2024, after battling Alzheimer's disease. Born on April 23, 1935, in Amity Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Otto and Arlowein Hopson Allen and grew up in a close-knit community.
Barbara graduated from Wattsburg High School in 1953. She was known for her passion for roller skating in her younger years and her remarkable baking skills placing 2nd place in the State Apple Dowdy Contest. Throughout her life, she held various jobs and roles, including serving as a school bus driver for almost four decades, American Sterilizer, Snap-Tite, Tax Collector for Amity Township, Justice of the Peace, Public Notary, and many hours at her parents farm. She found joy in family gatherings, baking, and serving meals at the Union City Moose Lodge.
In 1961, Barbara married Thaddeus "Ted" Krol, and together they shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2018. She was a dedicated member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 719 and was a faithful member of Saint Teresa of Avila.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her caregiver and daughter, Beverly Weaver, and her husband Ed, her daughter-in-law Kerrie Krol, grandchildren Jeffrey Weaver (Kelly), Amanda Ferraro (Josh), Sara Krol, Jay Johnson, Jake Betcher (Alisha), Zack Betcher, and Donielle Betcher, as well as her great-grandchildren Julian, Aida, Lena, Jayden, Easton and Greyson.
Family and friends are welcomed to pay their respects at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. at 62 South Main Street, Union City, on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Prayer Vigil Service at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 7th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Saint Teresa of Avila, followed by burial at Saint Teresa Cemetery.
Barbara's life was a testament to her strong work ethic, love for her family, and dedication to her community. She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son Craig Krol, a daughter Susan Bierman, and a son in law John Bierman.
