Rebecca Jackson Weston was born on January 27, 1941, the beloved daughter of the late Henry “Big Boy” Jackson and the late Janie Wells Jackson Brannon.  She transitioned from this earthly life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Rebecca was married to the late Cyrus Weston Jr. and from this union three sons were born, Anthony, Cyrus, and Tyron Weston.

Rebecca attended Richland County Public Schools and graduated from Hopkins High School Class of 1959. She was employed and retired from the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. After retirement, she found joy and pleasure working with and serving senior members in her community. Helping others was her true gift from God.

At an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Everyone who knew Rebecca, knew she loved thrifting, gardening, caring for animals and singing the gospel.

She was the president and lead singer of a family gospel group, the Singing Jubilees of Hopkins SC. She traveled from the Carolinas to as far as New Jersey singing and sharing the goodness of Jesus. She trusted and believed the word of God and stood on every promise of her heavenly Father. There was never a question of her love or commitment towards Jesus Christ and she shared it everywhere she went.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca was also preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Jackson, Jr., Janie “Montana” Greene, Andrew “JB” Jackson, Valeria “Liz” Etheridge, and Roosevelt “Pop” Jackson;  and her beloved sons, Anthony, and Tyron Weston.

Rebecca leaves to celebrate the legacy of her life a son, Cyrus (Annette) Weston of Elgin SC; two brothers, Freddie (Betty) Jackson and Nathaniel Jackson, both of Columbia SC; a sister in law, Dorothy Jackson of Gadsden SC; three grandchildren, Cyrus Anthony Weston, Jr., of Boston, MA, Ashley Weston of Columbia, SC, and Elliott Burgess of Fernandina Beach, FL; five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and a HOST of other loving relatives and dear friends who are like family, all of whom will love and miss her dearly.
