Melanie Kay Taylor McIver, age 61, of Taylorsville passed peacefully Sunday, September 29th, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center with family by her side. She was born November 5th, 1962, to George and Jane Taylor. She is preceded in death by her father George Taylor and brother Aaron Taylor.

Melanie was a devoted mother to her sons, J.C. and Jamison McIver. As they grew, she became involved with their concerts and sports. Nothing made her prouder than to be their mother. She and Jerry McIver raised their sons together and are members of Calvary Baptist Church. Melanie had a gift for befriending small children. Gimi was her special name that little ones called her, and they would always run straight into her arms for affection and fun. Melanie worked at Cargo Transporters for over 15 years. She was a dedicated employee who loved her job and had great friendships with her coworkers. 

Melanie is survived by her mother, Jane Taylor, sons, J.C. and Jamison McIver, brother Matt Taylor (Angie), sister Beth Martin (Neal), and sister-in-law Angie Taylor. Nieces Sarah Dawson (Andy), Kayleigh Webster (Johnny), Jordan Jones (Nate), Abbi Taylor and great nephews Micah Dawson, Johnny Webster, and Henry Jones. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Melanie will be held at Noon, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. Pastor Stephen Dagenhart will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon prior to the service.
