Patricia Ann Turner Obituary

Patricia Ann Turner, AKA Natasha Turner, was born July 5, 1952 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and grew up in Edison, New Jersey during in the 60’s counter culture movement. She passed away on September 29, 2024 in Austin, Texas.


She attended two years at Jersey City State college, during which she met her husband, Paul Kevin Dalton, who predeceased her. Together they went on a cross-country road trip in a VW camper in 1970. Additional colleges she attended included San Francisco City College, and ACC in Austin, Texas.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald R. Turner and Jean Mildred Turner.

She is survived by her spouse, Junior Palacios; an estranged brother, Richard; and his two daughters, Vanessa and Melinda, and their children.


She studied and loved music since an early age. She wrote her first song at age 12 and joined her first band at age 14. Natasha played piano, guitar and bass with a special passion for electric Chicago blues and rock. While performing on the streets of Greenwich Village, NYC, she was spotted by a man who was impressed by the crowd that had gathered and introduced her to John Hammond, Sr. who became a supporter of her artistry.


In the early 90’s she recorded a CD "Natasha" with Chesky Records in NYC and in 2012 made a self-produced EP while in Austin, Texas titled "Freaky Mind".


Natasha played venues in cities across the US and lived in New York City, San Francisco, Hollywood, Chicago, Denver, Albuquerque, and Austin, Texas. Some of her favorite memories include playing in small free-spirited clubs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.


She worked for a while at The Salvation Army in Austin helping the homeless.


She was a member of the Anthroposophical Society of America for over 30 years. Spiritual studies always played a prominent role in her life.


She also found much joy in dancing. Her favorite artists include - Blues: Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy. Rock: Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Funk: George Clinton and Prince.
