Savannah Marie "Suga Puddin" Martin was born in Jackson, Tennessee on July 4th, 1947 to the late Claude Lee Mosley and Pearl Marie Hampton. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized.
Sis. Savannah was united in Holy Matrimony to George L. Martin of Denmark, Tennessee. They have three children, Rose Newhouse, Steve Newhouse and Sandra Wilson.
Sis. Savannah joined West Bemis Missionary Baptist Church and has been a member for over 40 years. She was a dedicated member of the Usher Board for many years and served in other ministries of church.
Sis. Savannah was employed at Bemis Mills for 17 years. After their closing, she was employed at Jones Manufacturing in Milan, Tennessee for 10 years. She retired from Walmart in Jackson, Tennessee after 12 years.
Sis. Savannah was known for her sweet smile, her warm hugs and comforting spirit. She would call everyone "Suga Puddin". She was also very well known for being multi-talented. She was an artist, seamstress, amazing cook and expert crafter. Sis Savannah was a mother to all.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Claude Lee Mosley; her mother, Pearl Marie Hampton; three uncles, Luther Hampton, Jesse James (Beadie) Hampton and Harry Bond; one brother, Ronnie Mosley; one sister, Daisy Lee Palmer; one niece, Stephanie Bradford; one great-niece, Denisea Bradford.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving husband of 51 years, George L. Martin; three children, Rose Newhouse, Steve Newhouse, and Sandra (DareII) Wilson; three brothers, ClaudeII Mosley, James (Marva) Mosley and Harry Witherspoon; one sister, Moisezellia (Chris) Rutherford; four grandchildren, Kevin (Sylvia) Newhouse, Brittany (Chris) Taylor, Roderick Mosley, and RaShawn Mosley; 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and close friends.
