Thelma Stephens Brown, age 81, of LaFayette passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Willard Stephens, and her late husband, Dewey Lee Brown; and grandson, Joshua Lamar Stephens; stepson, Phillip Brown; parents, Alexander and Lucille Williams; brothers, Homer Williams, Charles Williams, and John Williams; and sisters, Loretta Helton and Maxine Harris.

She is survived by her children, James (Evon) Stephens, Lamar (Kim) Stephens, and Doris (Stoney) Bryant; step-children, Gayland Brown and Teresa (Troy) Padgett; grandchildren, Joseph (Amber) Stephens, Falon Reynolds, Dakota (Felicia) Stephens, Summer (Demaris) Lamar, Jessica (Eduardo) Egbert, Jonathan (Amber) Stephens, and Auston (Rio) Stephens; step-grandchildren, Dewayne (Danielle) Barrett, Drew (Chastity) Barrett, and Angel Wallace; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna (Garland) Touchstone, Louise Thomas, and Ruth Asher; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Yates Spring Full Gospel Church with Pastor Tim Dennison and Roddy Dennison officiating.

Interment will take place at Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Stephens, Jonathan Stephens, Demaris Lamar, Nathan Brown, Mitch Bridges, and Malcolm Wiggins.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, at the funeral home.
