Betty Lou Adams (Martineau) Obituary

Betty Lou Adams, 93, of Martinsburg, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.


Born December 17, 1930, in Washington, D. C., she was the daughter of the late Alfred H. Sepulveda Martineau and Helen Clarke Martineau.


She was of the Lutheran faith.


She retired from Kiplinger Washington Letters.


She is survived by her daughter, Helen W. Welton and husband, James, of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Charles J. Bright, Jr., Steven M. Bright (Rebekah Lusk), and Allison Welton; five great-grandchildren, Ben, Leo, Ash, and Mirabelle Bright, and Emma Welton.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Adams on November 24, 2006; brother, Richard C. Martineau; and sister, Sandra J. Martineau.


Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2-3 pm at Brown Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-4 pm.


Private graveside services will be held at St. Paul Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, DC.
