Opal Adele Allen, 90, of Lumberton passed away Sunday September 29, 2024. She was born, January 23, 1934, in Beaumont to the late Abel Pearl and Jessie Thompson.

Opal lived in Rosedale in North Beaumont for many years and attended French High School then moved to Lumberton in 1986. She was a lifelong member of Rosedale Baptist Church and was a faithful and active member since 1943.

She is preceded in death by, her loving husband of 70 years, J.D. Allen Sr.; son Larry Dale Allen Sr.; sisters, Ruth Johnson, and Dorothy Waller; brothers, Rev. Vernon, Earl, and Charles Thompson; grandsons, Chase Allen and Larry Allen Jr.; and both parents.

Opal is survived by, her sons, John D. Allen Jr. and wife Kim of Lumberton, Paul Wayne Allen and wife Debbie of Vidor; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
