WALTER JERRY SEXTON, 82, of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA. Born in Buchanan County, VA, he was the son of the late Hubert Lee and Alice Violet (Scott) Sexton. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a former VDOT worker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Sue Ray Presley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lavada (Kinder) Sexton of Grundy, VA; Son: Terry Dean (Tonya) Sexton; Daughters: Andrea Lee and Melissa Lee; Grandson: Brandon (Heather) Sexton; Brother: Lestle Hubert (Connie) Sexton; Stepson: Gerald Jackson (fiancée Tina Tackett).

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M.

Funeral Services for WALTER JERRY SEXTON will be conducted Friday, October 4, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Rife (Vansant Church of Christ) officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Second Floor Nursing Staff at Clinch Valley Medical Center, Staff of Legacy Hospice, Harry and Phyllis Scott, Warren Childress, Frank Matney and Albert Cook.
