Mrs. Kathy Barton, age 72, of Adairsville, well known to her family and friends as “Kat” passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 10, 1952 in Stilesboro, GA to the late Hiram and Ruth Morris. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 10 years, LeRoy Barton; son, Donald Shepherd; brothers, Bobby, Johnny and Randy Morris.

Kathy loved gardening and her flowers. You could find her out working in them daily. During the summertime you would find her poolside. She loved spending time with her two youngest grandsons. She loved her family and her Lord.

Kathy is survived by her children, James (Melissa) Shepherd of Cartersville and Dustin Banks of Kingston; step-sons, Trevor Barton of New York and Kyle Barton of Adairsville; grandchildren, Hunter, Lucus, Randy and Little Donald Shepherd all of Cartersville; Bridgette Tucker of Alabama; brother, Jackie (Sheila) Morris of Cartersville; sisters, Mary Sue (Cecil) Waters of Taylorsville, Louise (Ralph) Martin, Judy (Jody) Thigpin of Kingston and Gail (Ralph) King of Cartersville and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Waters Church with Michael Silvers and Marvin Waters officiating. Kathy will be buried by her husband at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Leaf Cremation is handling arrangements.
