Lee W. Johnson Obituary

Lee Wesley Johnson, 87 of Mosinee, passed away on September 29, 2024 at The Marquardt in Watertown WI, surrounded by his family.


Lee was born April 20, 1937 in Mosinee, WI, son of the late Dwight and Viola (Murr) Johnson.


Lee grew up in Mosinee. After graduating from UW-Madison, Lee moved to Milwaukee where he met the love of his life, Carol. They wed August 11, 1962 and later moved to Oconomowoc where they raised their two sons. After a few years in Deforest, Lee and Carol moved to Mosinee in 1998. Lee was an avid fisherman and loved watching the Packers and Badgers. In retirement, Lee reconnected with many of his old friends. He enjoyed playing cards and having “steak fries”.


Lee is survived by his wife Carol Johnson, Sons’ Ron (Sue) Johnson, Randy Johnson, grandson Grant (Ashley) Johnson, granddaughters Beth (Drew) Brunning, Emma Johnson, Isabelle Johnson, and great granddaughter Hilde Brunning. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kay.


A memorial service will be held on October 5, 2024 at the Mosinee United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 10-11am and a service at 11am. The family would like to give a sincere thank you to all the various staff members at The Marshfield Medical Hospital in Weston and The Marquardt in Watertown for all of their kindness and compassion to Lee.
