Elizabeth A. (Herb) Carry, 82, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Sandusky, Ohio in Hospice Care.

Elizabeth (Liz) was born to Clarence and Ruth (Reidel) Herb on March 14, 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio. Liz was a graduate of Sandusky St. Mary’s in 1960. She then went on to work for the Social Security Administration for over 30 dedicated years. After retirement, Liz worked for Dr. John Vela in Tiffin for almost 15 years.

Liz met her husband, Donald Carry, while “buzzing” the Ave. in Sandusky in 1961. They were married on October 12, 1966, and spent over 51 years together until Don’s passing in 2017. Liz loved her garden and all the various animals and critters they accumulated over the years, from horses to a fox and everything in between. Liz also enjoyed making various wooden crafts that Don cut out which she painted and brought to life. Also, she and Don toured much of the United States via motor home, just so the dog could go along. Liz’s greatest joy was being with her grandchildren whether at one of their sporting events or musical performances, or just sitting and playing games.

Liz was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, along with the Attica Garden Club.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents and three brothers, Ronald, David and Michael Herb. Liz is survived by her son, Chris (Melissa) Carry and two grandchildren, Jacob and Molly Carry. She is also survived by her four step-daughters, Debbie (Allan) Schoen, Darlene (Steve) Hoepf, Donna (Bill) Valent, and Diane (Rob) Nutter, along with ten step-grandchildren and numerous great and great-great step- grandchildren. Additionally, Lorene Herb (niece) shared a very special bond with Liz and was of great comfort to her over many years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2024 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica with Rev. Joseph P. Joseph officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Burial will follow the services on Friday, at St. Peter & Paul cemetery in Attica.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society or to Dorothy Kern Cancer Center in Fremont.
