John A. Blevins 82 of 8730 Seneca Trail S., Lindside, WV died Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Mercer Healthcare Center in Bluefield, WV after a prolonged illness. He was born June 21, 1942 in Grassy Creek, NC to the late McKinley and Mae Johnston Blevins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Zelma Taylor Blevins, two sisters, Cora Blevins and Barbara Blevins Bailey, his two brothers JC and James Blevins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

John was a 1960 graduate of Montcalm High School and was retired from American Electric Power. He was of the Protestant faith. While his health permitted he enjoyed western novels, gardening and completing projects around his home in Lindside.

He is survived by his three children, sons Duane (Pam) Blevins of Bluefield, VA; Mark Blevins of Lindside and daughter Melanie (Ray) Orey of Pearisburg, VA, four grandchildren Sarah and Elizabeth Blevins, Nathan and Ethan Orey.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Wickline Funeral Home on Thursday October 3, 2024 at 7:00PM with Rev. Henry Johnson of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Tazewell, VA officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till time of service.
