Tommy Bridges passed away on September 29, 2024 at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC. Tommy was born September 24th 1947 in Shelby, NC. He graduated “Class of 1965” from Harding High School in Charlotte, NC.

Tommy was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the 1st Calvary in the United States Army. He was a Patrol Officer for the Division of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. He retired from Duke Energy as a South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer for the Nuclear Plant Division.

Tommy was a Proud Member of the Westgate Masonic Lodge #738 in Charlotte NC & Mecklenburg Shrine Club as a former ‘HillBilly.’

Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as he loved them all dearly. He loved sitting in his man cave listening to music and working on projects. He worshipped his best fur-baby Shelby Lynn.

Tommy was proceeded in death by his father Gene Devon Bridges, mother Barbara Watson Bridges, and granddaughter Pamela Nicole “Nikki” Bridges. 

Survivors include his wife Brenda Bridges of Murrells Inlet, SC, son Greg Bridges of Kings Mountain, NC, step son Billy Garrison (Teresa Hicks) of Peachland, NC, daughter Lisa Airington (Anthony) of Pageland, SC, grandchildren Grant Bridges, Ally Bridges, Whitley Airington, Trey Garrison and Taylor Garrison, brother Baxter Bridges (Sherry) of Kannapolis, NC, sisters Linda Floyd (Kenny) of Charlotte, NC & Betsy Willoughby (David) of Charlotte, NC along with many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024 at 11:00AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
