ELGIN – A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Michael Rudolph Peake, 74, will be held from 3pm -5pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Powers Funeral Home.
Mr. Peake passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Born in Fairfield County, SC, he was the son of the late Nick Peake and Inez Peake. He was a member of Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and playing scratch-offs.
Surviving are his children, Kevin Peake (Brandi) and Beatrice “Bitsy” Inez Sorrells; grandchildren, Lucille “Lucy” Diane Sorrells, Elizabeth Grace Dickey (Nash), Evan Wayne Sorrells; great-grandchildren, Michael Waylon Sorrells, Magnolia Gwen Davis; siblings, Gene Peake (Gail) and Sherry Stockman (John); sister-in-law, Pat Peake. He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Kelley, and brothers, Bobby Peake and Jimmy Peake.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Brian Davidson and the staff at Pruitt Health – Blythewood, Amedysis Home Health, and his hospice nurse, Wayne Wickers.
