Plump, 67, passed away on September 29, 2024, at 5:15 am at Westbend Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Eugene was born May 9, 1958, in South Bend, IN to the union of Isiah and Mattie (Johnson) Plump and both preceded him in death.

Eugene attended Central High School and worked many years at Sibley Machine Tool Company before they company closed. He loved to laugh and talk with his family.

Eugene is survived by his only daughter, Mattelina Plump, his grandchildren Ebony and Ashley Davis and Ja'ion and Jamela Jones all of Indianapolis, IN, his great-grandchildren Rylan Sleepers of South Bend, IN, Ricardo Tinoco, Elayiah Sleepers. Hazel Grace Jones and Samirah Dawson all of Indianapolis, IN, one surviving sister, Mary Saunders Bond of South Bend, IN, and two brothers, Issac Plump of South Bend, IN and Lamar Plump of Las Vegas, NV.

Eugene has many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and host of cousins near and far whom he loved. He had a nephew that was more like a son and that is Tracy "Duke" Plump and another nephew, Jesse Saunders, that was more like his brother. He also had a niece, Andrea Nailon, which of whom he was very close to. Lastly, Eugene had two special cousins, Jackie Moody Ivory and Joy Plump.

His loved ones who preceded him in death are his father and mother, Isiah and Mattie (Johnson) Plump, brothers, Issac Plump Jr. Isiah Plump, Robert Plump, Arthur Saunders, William Saunders, Eddy Saunders, Jimmy Saunders, and his sister Dorothy (Saunders) Hawkins, his nephews Edward Nailon and Dallas Nailon and the mother of his only child, Patricia Polk.

Eugene will be dearly missed.
