Shirley M. (Stivason) Walker, 80, of Apollo, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.

Born October 16, 1943 in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late William G. And Helen M. (Waltenbaugh) Stivason.

Shirley was a graduate of Ford City High School, and went on to marry the love of her life, Jack, and become a homemaker and mother. Later, she worked at the Ben Franklin store in Apollo.

Shirley and her late husband Jackson traveled throughout the United States from 2000 to 2013 in their Winnebago. They also enjoyed going to McDonalds, sitting in their car with their coffee, and watching the birds. She also enjoyed reading, building puzzles, and listening to 70’s music. Shirley’s favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Walker, who passed away on January 24, 2024; son, Bruce Walker; great granddaughter, Savannah Flickinger; and her brother, George Stivason.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Debbie M. (Ed) Bash of Apollo, Cindy L. (Jeremy) Dunmire of Kiski Township; daughter-in-law, Darlene Walker; grandchildren, Joshua (Jenn) Frain, Jack Frain, Nichole (Brad) Klingensmith, Dale Bash; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Hunter, Dale Jr., Eddie, Logan, Elizabeth, Addison; great-great grandson, Ezekiel; sister-in-law, Carol Stivason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Private services with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leechburg, will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Shirley’s memory.
