Sebastian Muhl, 82, of Burlington, peacefully passed away in his home on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Born in Conopia, Yugoslavia on January 20, 1942, he was the son of Josef and Karoline (nee Schaefer) Muhl. After WWII ended, his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago. Sebastian graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in business. He served in the US Army Air Corps. from 1967 until 1975. On January 31, 1974 in Lihue, Hawaii, he was united in marriage to Jeannine (nee Lawrence) Muhl. For many years, Sebastian owned and operated a photo and video store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, next to Jeannine’s pet store.

Sebastian was a Burlington resident and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church since 2006. After remodeling their home, he spent time gardening, practicing Tai Chi, traveling, and enjoying all that Burlington had to offer. In 2018, Sebastian took part in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight with his nephew Kelly.

After 50 years of marriage, his wife Jeannine passed away. Sebastian was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Muhl, brothers and sisters-in laws June (Lawrence) and Jack Ripp, Jan and Donald Lawrence, and Richard Ehlen.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and sister-in law Kathleen (nee Lawrence) Ehlen.

The family would like to thank Aurora at Home Hospice, along with his many caregivers, especially his caregiver Vera.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Parish or Love, Inc.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 16th at 11:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial with full Military Honors will take place following Mass at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
