Joseph James Parlett, Sr. 87. died September 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Norfolk, VA son of the late John E. and Mary Virginia Etheridge Parlett. In addition to his parents, his wife, Mary J. Parlett and his six siblings also precede him in death.

Mr. Parlett was a Christian and a US Army Veteran. Until retirement, he was a self-employed small business owner who worked on staircase construction, was a carpenter, ran up to 12 semitrucks and sub contacted to build houses.

Surviving are his daughter, Charlotte A. Miles and son Joseph J. Parlett, Jr., four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
