Nathan Wayne Broadus, 58, of Columbia, passed away at his home on September 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. 

Nathan was born in Columbia on January 1st, 1966, to the late William Powell and Grace Broadus.  He graduated from David H. Hickman High School in 1984. Nathan married the love of his life Gina Cline on October 8, 1994. He was an active member of Forum Christian Church.  Nathan started working during high school at the Nowell’s Supermarket as a sacker and then was promoted to Assistant Manager in the Produce Department.  Nathan then began his career with the City of Columbia Utilities as a Crew Leader with the Sewer Division for 24 years, retiring in 2023 because of his cancer diagnosis.  Outside of his full-time job, he did lawn mowing and yardwork.  He was a hard worker and was a very talented and skilled handyman and could fix and repair anything.  He did all kinds of home repairs and improvements for many people over the years.  Nathan enjoyed following and encouraging his children in their sporting activities.  In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing in his recliner chair watching TV – especially football games.

Nathan is survived by his wife, Gina; his son, Joshua Nathan Broadus of Columbia; his daughter, Lydia Grace Broadus of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Kenneth Broadus (Doris) of Columbia; his five sisters; Jackie Thompson of Columbia, Lannie Mitchem (Albert) of Raytown, Missouri, Teresa Williams (Bob) of Marshall, Missouri, Doris “D.D” Judon and Louise Holloway both of Columbia.

He was also proceeded in death by two brothers, Terry Broadus and Archie Broadus.

A memorial service to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Forum Christian Church.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
