Aden E. Troyer, 90, of Walnut Creek, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 29, 2024 after declining health.
He was born on December 16, 1933 to the late Emanuel A. and Ada (Miller) Troyer. On June 12th, 1966, he was married to Betty Burkholder. She passed away on November 15, 2019.
Aden was a member at the Zion Conservative Mennonite Church, of Benton, Ohio for many years. As a single man he spent time serving among the native Americans in Canada for five years, and then four more years after marriage with his wife and family. He was a carpenter by trade and spent time taxiing Amish in the later years.
Aden is survived by six children, Steven (Rhoda) of Millersburg, Elaine (Simon) Miller of Alliance, Lois (Conrad) Miller of Butler, Maribeth (Jeffrey) Martin of Butler, Joyce (Timothy) Overholt of Ripley, WV, and Eunice (Jason) Mast of Crossville, TN; 41 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mattie Lowry of Hagerstown, MD, and one sister-in-law, Ida (late Aaron) Troyer of Rutherford, TX.
In addition to his wife Betty, and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Aaron Troyer and one sister, Esther Miller, two brothers-in-law, Melvin Miller and James Lowry.
Funeral services will be held at Gospel Haven Church in Benton, Ohio on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 10:00 am with Bishop Perry Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Conservative Mennonite Church cemetery. Friends may call at the Zion Church from 6-8pm on Monday, September 30 and 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
