Robert “Bob” McGlothlin, Jr., 79, of Vinton, Virginia, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louise McGlothlin; his first wife, Kathy McGlothlin; and his sister-in-law, Rita McGlothlin.

A man of deep faith, Bob cherished his relationships with his Lord, family, and church family. He honorably served in the National Guard for seven years and was the proud owner of his own business, Kaymac. Bob had a fervent passion for missions, embarking on numerous trips to Africa, Thailand, India, and returning to Zimbabwe with his beloved wife to serve as full time missionaries.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Verna Shrader McGlothlin; his son, Jonathan McGlothlin and his wife, Melissa; stepsons, Shaun and Adam Blevins; grandchildren, Kathryn McGlothlin, Nancy McGlothlin, Shaun Blevins, Jr., Allison Blevins, Clay Blevins, and Hunter Blevins; his brother, Jimmy McGlothlin and wife, Mary; his sister, Joyce McGlothlin Jones and husband, Curtis; honorary grandsons, Cale and Jace Meador; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Julie and Steve Ratliff for their unwavering support and friendship throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to World Missions at Shenandoah Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Shenandoah Baptist Church. Friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service at the church.
