It is with great sadness that the family of Ignatius “Loyola” O’Connor announce his passing on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 at his home at the age of 80 years.

Loyola will always be remembered for his love of sports, particularly golf, the Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved to talk about sports to anyone that would listen. He cherished his grandchildren deeply, taking great pride in their accomplishments from the moment they entered his life. Their successes brought him joy and fulfillment over the years.

He leaves to mourn: son Darren James O’Connor (Tania O’Connor); daughter Denise Ida Baragar (Kelly); brothers: Reginald and Daniel; sisters: Jessie and Elizabeth; grandchildren: Tristen (Chantal), Faith, Molly, Maddison, Quinton; great grandkids: Rayna and Millie, along with a large circle of extended family and friends.

Loyola was predeceased by: parents Vincent & Ida; sister Betty Wyatt; and brother Daniel O’Connor.

Following his wishes cremation has taken place. A private gathering will be held at a later date as per his wishes. As expressions of sympathy donations in Loyola’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
