Leeward “Lee” Kaleolani Kekauoha, age 76 of Waipahu, passed peacefully on September
16, 2024. He was raised in Nanakuli.
He graduated from Hawaiian Mission Academy and Loma Linda University in
California.
Lee joined the Honolulu Police Department in 1971. He was assigned to the Traffic
Division as Solo-Bike Officer for nine years, and also patrolled in District 3 (Waipahu/
Pearl City/Aiea), District 4 (Kaneohe, Kailua, Kahuku), and District 5 (Kalihi). He
retired as a Sergeant in District 3 after 28 years of service.
Lee is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Eleanor “Ellie” Kekauoha; son
Jonathan (Tina-Marie) Kekauoha; daughter Kawehi (Keo) Lefcourt; 9 grandchildren:
Kainoamalu, Trustan, Sienna, Kaweo, Journey, Shae, Taylor-Marie, Tiffani-Megan, Evan;
and 1 great-grandchild: Rylan.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Kawaiaha’o Church, 957
Punchbowl Street, Honolulu.
9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.: Visitation
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Services
