Flonell (Jackson) Holmes, 85, of Pelham, Massachusetts, and formerly of Amherst and Springfield, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born in Sparks, Georgia, a daughter of Tommy Jackson and Minnie (Jones) Jackson. Flonell lived in the area for fifty-seven years and during her working career she gave loving care to the community as a home health aide. More importantly she was a devoted licensed missionary in the Pentecostal church spreading the good news about Jesus Christ.
She leaves two sons, Charlie Holmes (and his wife) and Alex Holmes; a daughter, Carolyn Holmes (and her husband); two brothers, Earl Jackson and William Jackson (and his wife); two sisters, Marva Wilkins and Crecy Witherspoon; her grandchildren, Cassius Greenfield, Alexis Holmes, Lavonne Reed, Camille Holmes, Carolyn Holmes, and Charlie Holmes; her great-grandchildren, Lamotte Brinkley III, Tyree Brown, Kai Brown, Devin Prince Jr., Emani Buggest, Naelani Register, and Nylah Holmes; three god-sons, Clarence McCalvin, Bart McCalvin, and Timmy Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Missionary Holmes was predeceased by her parents, Tommy Jackson and Minnie Jones and her second mother, Rolina Jackson; her son, Craig Holmes; three brothers, Sylvester Jackson, Hurley Jackson, and James Jackson; three sisters, Lottie Beady, Mercedes Williams, and Helen Durden; and a great-grandson Alexander Holmes.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the Greater New Life Christian Center, 1323 Worcester St., Indian Orchard, MA. The homegoing service begins at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
