Frederick John Dzindzalet, 74, departed this life on September 19, 2024 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Rodican Dzindzalet. Frederick was born in New Haven, CT on September 10, 1950, to the late Herbert and Dorothy DePino Smith.
Fred was a 1969 graduate of Lyman Hall High School and in 1970 he joined the US Army, earning a National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge. He was a Military Policeman in Germany until his discharge in 1972. In his early years, he was a skilled welder and then transitioned careers to follow his passion for real estate. He worked for Kowalski Real Estate Company for many years before opening his own brokerage, Fredericks Realty Company, LLC.
Frederick is survived by his wife Catherine Dzindzalet, his daughters Leslie Dzindzalet Weaver (Philip) and Cassandra Joy Dzindzalet, his grandson Kolby Jones, sisters-in-law Patricia Rodican Bissonnette (Alan) and Margaret Rodican Hartman, brother-in-law Robert Andersen and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his sister Doreen Dzindzalet Sada, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Rodican Andersen and brother-in-law Joseph Hartman.
