It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Melvin L. Carifelle, affectionately known as "Sonny." Born October 15, 2004, in Peace River, Alberta, Sonny grew up in the Cadotte Lake community. He was known for his love of the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, and playing hockey, ball hockey or baseball. When not engaged in these activities, Sonny could often be found working on vehicles, always willing to help others with theirs.

Sonny leaves his mothers, Jennifer White and Sheryl Carifelle, and his fathers, Melvin Jr. Carifelle (Erica Laboucan) and Roderick Laboucan. His 11 siblings will deeply miss him: Hannah, Tierra, Serena, Natalie, Keisha, Isaah, Katrina, Andaya, Makisac, Jayde, and Zion. Sonny also leaves many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A wake will be held for Sonny at Cadotte Lake School following the procession from Peace Valley Funeral Home, starting on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Funeral services and burial will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in remembering and saying goodbye to Sonny. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
