Patricia Cuccaro Obituary

Patricia A. Cuccaro, 87, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Twp., NJ. Patricia (Patsy) was born on October 11, 1936, in Lakewood, NJ. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Louis Michael Cuccaro, her parents, Charles H. Brown and Rosemary Higgins, her brother John Brown and her sister Barbara Cannestro and Jeanne Bowley. She lived much of her life in Long Valley, NJ where she raised her family, before retiring to her beloved Pine Barrens in Whiting NJ. She moved to Hackettstown 8 years ago to be closer to family. She earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Floriculture from State University Agricultural and Technical Institute in Farmingdale, NY. She worked as a secretary for Washington Township Schools, Washington Township and County of Morris for many years before retiring in 1998.

A true 'Jersey Girl', Patricia loved the Shore, painting in the Pine Barrens, fishing in Spruce Run, breakfast at a diner...or maybe just going for a drive. She loved her pets - Bambi, Jack Coconut and Pepe - her best dogs & Kittie Cuccaro, her senior rescue and menagerie of pets during her years in Long Valley. Her retirement years were filled with travels to many places with family and friends and included art retreats, family weddings and fly fishing in Montana.

Patricia is survived by her two children, Rosemary Cuccaro Braught and her husband William, and Michael Cuccaro and his wife Kellie (Evans). Her five cherished grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Lauren, Gavin, Addy, Aidan, and Billy, who she delighted in sharing stories of their latest achievements or hijinks'. She adored her many precious nieces & nephews...and their children and grandchildren. She maintained a long list of loving friends from all the stages of her life.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Long Valley on Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 10:30am, and interment will be held privately by her family at the German Valley Rural Cemetery in Long Valley.
