Daniel Joseph Barkhouse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2024, at Valley Regional Hospital. He was born on November 22, 1943, in Canning, Nova Scotia, to the late Joseph and Vera Barkhouse.

Daniel was a man of many passions and a heart full of love. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley, and his sisters, Betty, Joan and Joanne. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Saltzman, his grandson James Daniel (JD) Saltzman, his granddaughter Jeannie (Scott) Saltzman, his brothers Johnny (Janice) and Paul (Ardythe) and his sister Muriel and many nieces and nephews.

Daniel's love for music and jamming with friends was well-known. He had a talent for playing the guitar and could often be found strumming away with a smile on his face. His passion for working outdoors was evident in everything he did, and he found solace in the beauty of nature. Whether he was out fishing on the boat or traveling to the States, he cherished the moments spent in the great outdoors.

One of Daniel's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was always there for those he loved. His warm smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Daniel also had a fondness for simple pleasures, such as having breakfast at A&W with his friends. He cherished these moments and the camaraderie that came with them. His presence brought light and warmth to those around him, and his absence will be keenly felt.

Daniel Joseph Barkhouse leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before him.

There will be no funeral service by request but there will be a celebration of life at the Meadowview Hall on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 1pm
