Melissa Jo Helmick, 40, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at UPMC Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg, September 6, 1984, a daughter of Timothy Helmick and his wife Lisa, and the late Betty McCoy and her husband Bobby.

Also surviving is her fiancé, Jacob Adam Ice, Fairmont; three children, Dakotah Lowther, Bryson Lowther, and Jacob Adam Ice, Jr.; her siblings: Marie Choleva, OH, Angela Helmick, Clarksburg, Samantha Matheny, Bridgeport, Natisha Hebrock and her husband Jared, OH, John Bile and his wife Phyllis, Oh, Alyssa Biles, OH, Timothy Helmick, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Melissa attended East Fairmont and RCB High Schools. She was formerly employed as an office assistant for the office of Dr. Shiv Navada. She enjoyed going to the beach and being near the water. Melissa loved taking care of her family and those close to her. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 4pm until the time of the service at 7:30pm, Monday, September 23rd. Cremation will follow the services.
