Daniel “DJ” Jerome Arvie, born on December 29, 1978, in Galveston, Texas, to Lee Arvie Sr. and Priscilla Tezeno Arvie, was raised in Texas City, Texas. From a young age, he embraced his faith, accepting Christ at the Salvation Army Church with his family, and later attending Galilee UMC under the guidance of Rev. Carolyn Robinson.
A proud graduate of Texas City High School, Class of 1997, DJ was an active member of the Stingaree Football team and participated in FGM "A Few Good Men" under the direction of Dedrick Johnson. He furthered his education by graduating from Remington College in 2018 with a certificate in medical billing and coding.
DJ was deeply committed to his community, serving as President of the LaMarque West Texas City Little League. He enjoyed being involved in his children's lives, co-leading Girl Scout Troop 26168 with his wife, Terri, and serving as Scout Leader for Cub Scout Pack 26.
As a devoted husband and father, DJ was known for his easygoing nature and his love for family. He was a passionate fan of the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Bears, Houston Astros, and Houston Rockets. He cherished spending time with his children, whether it was watching anime, gaming, coaching baseball, or attending anime conventions.
DJ is survived by his loving wife, Terri Lynne Griffin-Arvie; children, D'Asia, Bre'Sha, and D'Aunate (Deuce); father Lee Arvie Sr.; siblings, Lee Arvie Jr. (Shirelle), Willie Arvie, and Brentney Bledsoe (Rashaud); along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Tezeno Arvie; nephew, Lee Arvie III; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
DJ's warm spirit and caring heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
