Marilyn Joyce Holloway, 65, of Bastrop, Louisiana, passed away on September 16, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on November 29, 1958, in Bastrop, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Russell and Roselle Holloway.
Joyce was known for her silly sense of humor, love of rose gardening, sewing, and also being a “coffee connoisseur”. Last but not least, Joyce was known for her delicious cooking. She loved her granddaughters and daughters with all of her heart. Joyce spent her life being a wonderful wife, mother, and nurse. Caring for her patients and the calling of being a nurse was one of her proudest achievements. All of her patients knew the depth of her love and care for them.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Roselle Holloway, her beloved husband, William Stanfill, and her stepson, Jeff Stanfill.
Joyce is survived by her father, Russell Holloway; her daughters, Julia Fletcher and Rebecca Acosta and her husband Brandon.; her beloved granddaughters, Mirabella and Meredith Acosta; her stepdaughter, Stephanie Stanfill; her sister, Glenda Couch and her husband Del and her brother, William Holloway and his wife Sharon. She is also survived by her sisters Crystal Bolin and her husband Chris, and Christy Holloway; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A time of visitation for friends and family will be held at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Joyce's life at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Jason Strong officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery, Marion, Louisiana under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
