Thelma Giesmann Obituary

Thelma Marie Giesmann of Wentzville, Missouri, was born March 19, 1927 and passed away on September 16, 2024. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Harry and Stella Wiemann (nee: Hubbard). She is survived by her daughter-in-law Doris Giesmann and her late dear son James Giesmann of O’ Fallon, MO, son Dennis (Pamela) Giesmann of Hawk Point,MO, daughters Sherry (Leroy) Meyer of Jonesburg, MO, and Tina (Bob) Phillips of Wentzville; eight grandchildren Craig (April) Giesmann, Chad (Miranda) Giesmann, Jason (Kristy) Meyer, Keith (Christina) Meyer, Luke (Miranda) Giesmann, Allyson Giesmann and Phillip and Kyle Creech; sixteen great grandchildren Jeffrey, Justin, and Joshua Giesmann, Ava, Grant Giesmann, Jacey, Alyssa Meyer, Trey, Hailey Meyer, Ethan, Conner Lowrey, Presli, Lyla Giesmann, Cheyenne Kriegh, and Noelle, Milo Creech; one great-great granddaughter on the way.

Thelma’s first job was at St. Joseph Hospital. She then worked at various jobs in the area; like factories and restaurants. However, she was particularly most proud of working on circuit boards for McDonnell-Douglas where she eventually retired. She loved doing yard work, planting flowers and continued to do so until the age of 95. She was very proud of her house and yard and did it “her way.” She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to do things the right way (her way), while teasing each other. She was the last surviving Charter Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 323 here in Wentzville and continued spending many hours helping both the Unit and Legion Post. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Harry Wieman and Stella Jones, dear son James Giesmann, sisters Ruby Welch, Genevieve (Janette) Eisenbath, Oma Maurice (Tootie) Williams, and one great grandson Cole Giesmann.

In honor of Thelma, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of Pitman Funeral Home 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, Missouri, 63385
