William Henry “Bill” Tabor, 76, of St. Albans, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. He was born in Tifton, Georgia, to the late John H. and Johnnie Bell Tabor.
William attended public schools in Georgia and graduated from Tift County High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Savannah State College, in Savannah, GA. After graduating, William briefly taught in Georgia public schools before being employed as a chemist at Union Carbide. He also worked at Rhone Poulenc as a chemist and retired from Bayer Crop Science, in Institute, WV, as a chemist. William enjoyed reading the Bible and he loved fishing, bowling, dancing, and playing cards. In some circles, he was known for having a “tricky” drop-shot when playing tennis. Bill loved music and was a member of the SPMBC Male Chorus for 43 years. His favorite songs were, “ Clean-Up”, “That’s Enough”, and “Something Inside Me.” Bill never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. He was loved by his family and friends and was known for being “just a good guy.” Bill will be truly missed.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Rev. Dr. Lisa M. Tabor, sisters, Evangelist Clara Johnston, and Mary Collander, and brothers, John Tabor, and Oscar Tabor.
Those left to cherish William’s memory are his wife, Louise Tabor, sons, DeAngelo Tabor (Shanean), Olive Grove, MS, and Adrian Tabor, St. Albans, WV, grandchildren, Diara Tabor, Kristen Tabor, and Gabrielle Tabor, all of Olive Grove, MS, sisters, Luella Fowler, Tifton, GA, Evangelist Perry Sue Allen (Apostle Cletis Allen), Jacksonville, FL, honorary brother, Dr. Michael Burton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
